Restaurant: Biaggis Rochester

I recommended a chain restaurant located in Rochester, NY, Biaggi's, which is the same chain that I went to while I was in Chicago. That way, we could eat dinner a little earlier and skip our usual Cheesecake Factory meal, which we normally ate pretty late.

We started with bread (loved the variety of bread) and ordered a pizza for an appetizer - Sausage Pizza - Italian sausage, fresh tomato sauce, caramelized onion and their Italian cheese blend. The pizza was delicious, and we were already half full after eating it.

Shrimp and Crab Cannelloni - Spinach pasta filled with shrimp, crab meat, ricotta cheese and spinach. Baked in a rich lobster-tomato cream sauce. I only tried a litle bit of her dish.

Ziti Al Forno - Savoury shrimp and chicken baked in a lobster-cream sauce with Italian cured ham, red onion and their Italian cheese blend. It was a good dish, but it was salty. The sauce was salty and the ham was especially salty.

I got what I vowed to get the next time I came back - Penne Sardi - Penne pasta tossed with grilled chicken, wild mushrooms, caramelized onions and a sun-dried tomato cream sauce. Finished in the oven with a topping of crispy garlic and oregano seasoned breadcrumbs. It was what I remembered it being, and because we had the pizza, I had leftovers and got to take it home for lunch the next day. So excited!

Mike got the Veal Parmigiana - Tender veal cutlets lightly breaded, fried and baked with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Served with spaghetti topped with our garlic Alfredo sauce. He got the spaghetti changed for farfalle. The dish was so large, that he only ate a couple pieces.

For dessert, we all shared a Warm Apple Crostata - Sautéed apples with cinnamon and raisins baked in a flaky pastry crust. Served with vanilla ice cream and homemade caramel rum sauce. It was a generic apple dessert. We didn't have to get it because we were so full, but we were on vacation!
