Vineland Estates Desserts

Restaurant: Vineland_Estates_Winery

Nelson @ Vineland Estates Winery: To finish our excellent meal, we ordered our included ($12) desserts.

There were five different choices, Nuts, Pumpkin, Ginger, Caramel and Chocolate.

I had the "Chocolate" with Lindt Chocolate Trio, Milk Bubble Chocolate, White Chocolate Coco Nib Florentine. I'm not that big of a fan of mousse, but this was no chocolate mousse. This was so much better. The chocolate (in the martini glass) was so rich, so tasty and so creamy. It was amazing. The florentine was crunchy, sweet and complemented the smooth velvety chocolate. Lastly, the pieces of chocolate were plain because it wasn't as sugary and it was too light in texture. But it didn't matter as the chocolate in the martini glass was sensational.

Kitty had the "Nuts", pistachio creme brulee, maple-red walnut gelato, vanilla and almond shortbread. The best part was the very pistachio-y creme brulee (plus the bonus pistachios sprinkled on the plate). The gelato was more like ice cream and had a nice subtle flavour. The shortbread was tasteless (or I don't remember the taste). My dessert was much sweeter, which probably ruined this a bit. Also her portion was a little small, but since we were stuffed, we didn't care.

Great way to end the meal. Later that night I proposed!

  • That's part of the story! I got her drunk and then asked her!

In actuality, we had been drinking all afternoon from the wine tour, so by the time dinner rolled around we had had more than enough to drink. Also, wine was not part of the package (it was an extra cost), so I didn't order any...
