Sir Winston Churchill Pub (in Montreal)
Restaurant: Montreal Sir_Winston_Churchill_Pub
Nelson @ Sir Winston Churchill Pub: For some reason (probably indecisiveness), we ended up at an English Pub while we were in Montreal.
While there I had to order the poutine. Yes, I know it doesn't make sense that I went to Montreal, went to an English pub and ordered a quebecois dish. It was called La Poutine Quibecoise aux Trois Poivres (Three Pepper Poutine a la Quebecoise). For some reason, I was expecting something more, but what can I expect for pub food. It's just like normal poutine, topped with a tiny bit of whole peppercorn. It wasn't that special and the peppercorn added little to the dish.
Then I ahead and ordered a Portuguese Style Steak Sandwich from an English pub while in Montreal. This came with tabasco, garlic, lettuce, tomato, gherkins and pesto. I don't recall any tabasco (disappointing) or garlic but I can see the pesto sauce in the picture. I got it medium, and it was a little tough, like the meat in most steak sandwiches. The salad was good because I didn't need any more fries after (splitting) the fries. My memory seems to be a little foggy, and the ironic thing is that we didn't even drink that much that night.
