Mandy and Brian's Wedding
dre: This wedding was at the Park Hyatt Hotel in downtown Toronto. The dinner was much delayed and the hors d'oeuves were gone as soon as the servers left the kitchen area. There would be people (us included) situated right near the door to jump on the servers as they came out. It was so bad that they started covering the hors d'oeuves when they came out to go to a different part of the room.
Anyway, dinner was finally served and they were as follows:
Assorted breads and rolls - The rolls were quite hard and dry. The cripsy thing was all right, but I didn't finish it.
Grilled Portobello Mushroom, Eggplant, Zucchini, Roasted Peppers, Radicchio, Shaved Manchego Cheese, Aged Balsamic Vinaigrette - I wasn't sitting next to Mike that night, so I passed the cheese onto him through the table, so obviously it stirred up some conversation as to what kind of cheese I liked and not liked.
Roasted Filet of Black Angus Beef with chanterelle mushroom sauce, raosted yukon gold mash, and steamed vegetable medly - The steak was pretty tender, but too well done for my liking. Nevertheless, I finished it.
The dessert was a Warm Molten lava Chocolate Cake with hazelnut praline ice cream and a Chinese pastry - It was delicious! If it wasn't so rich, I would have eaten another one!
The cake was pretty cool with the green beading and the matching green apples. It turned out to be chocolate...yum! The sweet table was full of Chinese and Jewish (?) pastries. (Mandy is Chinese and Brian is Jewish). I only had fruit from the sweet table (and a slice of cake).
