Skydome Restaurant - Arriba
Nelson @ Arriba: We visted the restaurant inside Skydome, named Arriba, for Winterlicious. We sat next to the window and could watch an empty Skydome. If you reserve a table during a game, you can watch the game for free!
We started with Fried Calamari with roasted tomatoes, black olives, saffron mayo and capers. This dish was gigantic for an appetizer, and almost could have been a meal itself. It had larged pieces of calamari and was tasty.
I had the soup, a Black Bean and Chorizo Sausage in Coriander cream. I don't like coriander that much, and when combined with the black bean, it didn't taste very good. The sausage didn't go well with the dish either.
For the mains, we had a Honey Cumin Slow Roasted Pork Loin with sweet potato mash and Cherry Jus. I wish they included more Cherry Jus, because the pork was to lean and as a result it was dry. Unfortunate, because I really like roast pork dishes. The other main was a Pan Seared Pickerel with Crab Beurre Blanc, Braised Fennel and Leek. This dish was better, with the fish in a unique tasting sauce.
For dessert, we had Homemade Bread Pudding in a Caramel Bourbon sauce and a Biscotti and Ice Cream. The bread pudding's caramel sauce was really sweet. For the Biscotti, I don't think I took a picture of the ice cream, unless it's in the cup. Oops!
Overall, a fair restaurant, but it does have the novelty of being inside Skydome and being able to see onto the field.
