Chimichanga @ Yonge and Eglinton
dre: Just because I couldn't get enough Mexican food, I wanted to eat more Mexican food here in Toronto. On the recommendation from my cousin, I went to this place called Chimichanga on Yonge Street just north of Eglinton.
We started off with nachos and dip (which turned out wasn't free haha). The nachos were so deep fried and oily and SO GOOD!
Mike barely finished his cheesy meaty Enchilada Verde: Two soft corn tortillas stuffed with veggies and home-ground beef. Rolled and baked to perfection. Topped with our green tomatillo sauce. Served with rice and simmered beans. Garnished with pico de gallo and homemade sour cream.
Since the restaurant was called Chimichanga, I decided to pay the extra $2 to deep fry my burrito into a chimichanga. I was not disappointed. It was loaded with meat, cheese and I don't know how I ate all that food (in addition to all the nachos I stuffed my face with). I had the Chimichanga El Paso Chipotle Chicken Burrito: Breaded chicken breast drowned in homemade chipotle pepper sauce. The perfect combination of flavour and texture. Served with red rice, simmered beans, homemade sour cream, pico de gallo and guajillo pepper sauce.
