Nelson @ Mill St. Brew Pub: Kitty and I were in the Distillery district and decided to have dinner at this pub. It's a nice pub and the food is pretty decent. Of course we started with the pub's own beer, a Tankhouse ale. Good, but not spectacular.

Our appetizer was Beer Steamed P.E.I Mussels, steamed with Mill Street Stock Ale with chorizo sausage, purple onions, leeks and touch of dijon mustard, served with hand cut fries. The mussels could have been fresher, but the sausage was plentiful and really tasty.

Kitty had the daily Sunday special, a Roast Beef with Yorkshire pudding. It was good, but she couldn't finish all of it.

I had the Caraway and mustard seed marinated lamb shanks, with braised red cabbage, apple mashed potato with oktoberfest beer sauce. The lamb was soft and full of taste. The red cabbage I didn't really like, and didn't even finish. This is the first time I've had apple mashed potatoes, and I fell in love with them right away. The were so good, I was inspired to try making them myself.
