East Side Mario's Mother's Day

Restaurant: Brampton East_Side_Marios

dre: On Mother's Day, my mom wanted to eat East Side Mario's. In a scramble to find a restaurant that wasn't full, we went to the one on Hurontario and Ray Lawson in Brampton.

Top: Italian Wedding Soup. There were many refills for this soup that night. I found it to be salty.

Sausage Al Forno - Italian sausage, kissed by the grill and pan seared in extra virgin olive oil. Tossed with fresh basil, roasted garlic, red wine, caramelized onions and our Napolitana sauce, then topped with our blend of cheeses and grape tomatoes baked in the oven. I thought this dish sounded better than it tasted. It needed more sauce and I found it very bland.

Firecracker Shrimp Bowties - Shrimp sautéed in garlic, snow peas, spicy hot peppers, Roma tomatoes, basil and Parmesan cheese, tossed in an herbed olive oil. I thought they made it well and it was tasty.

On another occasion, we went to East Side Marios in Collingwood and I had a New Yorker pizza - Pepperoni, mixed peppers, mushrooms, pizza sauce and four cheeses. It's 1/2 price after 9pm everyday!

  • I've had that sausage pasta before and it's not that great. Whenever I go in a big group here, the Firecracker Shrimp Bowties is inevitably ordered by someone. Your pizza looks much better than the veggie one I got.
