Overdone Prime Rib

Restaurant: Brampton The_Keg

dre: We had a family dinner at The Keg for Mike's birthday. While it is a treat, I can't believe how expensive it is getting to be. A prime rib classic used to be around $30 (this was 10 years ago). Now, it's almost $40. I supposed there's inflation, but now that we've eaten at The Keg numerous times (a year!), it's not that special, so a cheaper dining establishment may be a better option.

Anyway, my prime rib classic meal comes with its usual large salad. This time, my prime rib was really cooked to more of a medium than medium rare. They were really nice about it, and brought me another piece of really bloody looking meat. I think my piece came closer to the end of the roast and the new piece came from the middle.

The kids shared a chicken fingers meal with asparagus. They are strange with asparagus. Sometimes they like, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they only like the heads, sometimes they only like the stems. The chicken fingers were made of real white meat chicken, but I thought it was a little dry. The girls didn't really like it either. They ate most of the overdone prime rib instead.

They still have really great service, so while the food was sub-par this time, the service made up for it.
