Christmas Day Dim Sum
dre: Our annual Christmas Day dim sum has been challenged since the closure of The Grand in Etobicoke. There just isn't a good replacement that takes reservations on Christmas Day AND tastes just as good! We decided to try this place out, Bliss Chinese Cuisine. It is in the old location of where Regal was. I took a couple of photos, but not everything that we ate.
We started with some shrimp dumplings. The skin was extremely sticky, and bascially fell apart as we tried to take it out of the container because they were sticking to the others.
Shrimp rice noodle roll wasn't bad, but could have used more soy sauce.
The spinach and king mushroom rice noodle roll had more soy sauce, but for some reason, still was tasteless.
Pumpkin congee. I tried a little for taste...and it was tasteless too.
The fired noodles were decent, but quite oily.
Fried eggplant and peppers with fish paste on top. I didn't have any, as I was trying to stay away from deep fried foods.
Bean curd roll. It was quite packed with food inside, and i enjoyed it.
All in all, it's not a terrible place, but I didn't find the food that great. Fortunately, there was lots of space for us. I really don't have good options for dim sum in Brampton, so at least it was better than the one restaurant we frequent, but oh... I miss The Grand!
