New Toronto Restaurant for Sandwiches
dre @PotbellyCanada: I've been watching this vacant location get transformed throughout the year. I didn't know it would become a Potbelly Sandwich Shop until the sign went up a couple weeks before it opened. I've never been to a Potbelly before, so wasn't sure what to expect. One afternoon, Mike came downtown and met me for lunch. We met up with another friend.
The inside has a lot of unique decorations, reminds me of an upscale 50's diner. They are also known for milkshakes, so I'll have to try next time.
There was a line-up, but not that long, as it wasn't quite yet noon. I looked at the menu while waiting in line, and decided to get "A Wreck®" ($6.99 for original size). It had salami, roast beef, turkey & ham. Mike tried the Grilled Chicken and Cheddar ($8.99 for big size).
They toast the bread with cheese, exactly like Quizno's, and then put the meat and toppings and sauce on. It tasted okay. Wasn't much different from what I recall from Quizno's.
