dre @patoistoronto: Down at Union Station is the Union Summer market foods. September 5th is the last day to enjoy, so head down today before they close up!
One of the vendors is Patois. Their location at Dundas and Bathurst is closed temporarily because of a fire, but fortunately, they were able to set up shop at the market this summer. I took a picture of all their sandwiches on display, and decided to try two of them (on two different occasions).
The first one was the Juicy Jerk Chicken Shawarma. This was really delicious and the chicken was really juicy and everything was good.
The second sandwich I tried was the Jamaican Patty Double Down. This was bread, with patties, and bacon! There was sriracha sauce and cheese in between too, but I picked out the cheese. This was quite filling and messy. I wish there was more sriracha sauce instead of the little squirt in my sandwich.
Interesting concept to merge Asian and Jamaican flavours. I hope they are able to open up again very soon!
