Nelson: Hosting my parents-in-law in Waterloo and the first restaurant I thought of taking them to is Metro for some schnitzel. They have different styles here and the even the breading varies. I think this one, called the Parisian ($10.95) is lighter batter with more egg and less bread crumbs and then is topped with cheese and mushrooms. A side of Greek salad and mash potatoes finishes off one of my favourite meals in the KW area.
This next one has a more typical batter and feels like it is deep fried more. It is the Gypsy ($10.95), topped with sautéed onions, green peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes. This one is the one I order the most actually. I can't resist the vegetable toppings. The home fries are ok and this is a side of coleslaw.
Still one of my favourites in the KW region, their schnitzel is great even though they are serving them Czech style and not German!
