Nelson @FREEBIRDS_WB: For something different we went for lunch at Freebirds which specializes in burritos. Since I'd been having a lot of beef and pork I opted for the chicken burrito, medium sized which is named Freebird Chicken ($6.90). I picked spinach wrap, but there was a choice of cayenne, wheat and flour). They had a great selection of toppings, and I picked Monterrey jack cheese, rice, refried beans (black and pinto were the other options), corn salsa, pico de gallo, tomatoes and peppers/onions. It made for a very fresh tasting burrito.
The most unique thing is the option to grab some bbq sauce to dip the burrito in. A totally new concept for me, but not surprising as Texans love BBQ.
The burrito itself leaked a lot of liquid and made it messy to eat. It was good overall and I liked it. A nice touch is they heat the tortilla first before wrapping it and then also pressing it later. Also note the Dr. Pepper in the background!
