dre in Rochester: Back during the Thanksgiving long weekend, we took a trip to Rochester to visit The Strong Museum, which is a children's museum located downtown. Before the kids indulged with all-day play, we indulged in burgers at Red Robin. This place specialized in different types of burgers, gourmet style.
My cousin insisted on getting the Towering Onion Rings - 13 onions tall! The girls enjoyed looking at the tower and we enjoyed eating the tower.
I tried the Banzai Burger - The burger of beach bums, surfer dudes and hungry people. Glazed in teriyaki and topped with grilled pineapple, Cheddar (none for me), lettuce, tomatoes and mayo for a taste wave that’ll knock you off your board.
It was decent and I really enjoyed the pineapple in my burger. The side I chose was steamed broccoli. Boring, I know, but it was really for Lauren. The sides were unlimited and you can ask for seconds.
Mike tried the A.1. Peppercorn burger - Gourmet burger joint or five-star steakhouse? It gets confusing with the hardwood-smoked bacon, melted Pepper-Jack, A.1.® Peppercorn Spread, tomatoes and crispy onion straws on an onion bun, making this burger worthy of five stars.
He got a side of garlic fries (extra $$). The fries were extremely salty and very underwhelming, but at least we tried it and wouldn't get it again.
Mike really liked the burger and the onion bun that it came on.
My cousin got the Royal Red Robin, which was my second choice because having an egg on a burger sounds just soon delicious!
We got a kid's cheese pizza for the girls. They each had at least a slice, but the clear winner of this dish was the unlimited servings of mandarin oranges.
There are locations in BC and Alberta, but none in Ontario... too bad. We would have to go to Buffalo for the closest location to us.
