Sushi Ya Japan

Restaurant: Sushi_Ya Toronto

Nelson: Nelson: Japanese run Japanese restaurant that I live so close to. Sushi Ya is great. We start with the Miko special boat ($50) with 18 pieces sashimi, 12 sushi, one 8 piece roll and 2 hand rolls. The best part of this combo is that the roll that comes with this boat is a fancy one! This is the Sushi-Ya roll with shrimp tempura, assorted sashimi, avocado and spicy mayo, which is normally $14 alone. No simple cucumber or California roll so this is great value. The fish is fresh here and the sushi prepared expertly. Good stuff.
Beyond that we had some sushi sake roll ($6) which is simply salmon. Behind that is the green dragon roll/($13) with bbq eel and avocado.
The last roll is the Akasaka with chopped scallop, green onion, avocado, spicy mayo and tobiko ($11). I love this roll as the scallop is so flavourful and has a distinct texture. Yum!
The two hand rolls from the special boat are spicy salmon. I don't usually eat these because there is too much rice, but it's nice to mix it up sometimes.
