Bridge Cafe at Avon Gorge Hotel for Afternoon Tea
|Nelson: The Bridge Cafe at the Avon Gorge Hotel has a spectacular view of the Clifton Suspension bridge. It's a perfect place to enjoy the English tradition of Afternoon tea. It's £27 for two or £15.95 for one. Of course we start with the tea. I always go for an English tea as it is very different from Asian teas. I like it either plain or with a bit of milk.|
The tower of food always looks so appetizing. Let's start with the sandwiches, They included, cucumber, salmon, cheese and ham. They were all pretty good although a bit light on the ingredients. The egg salad bun was really creamy.
My favourite part are the scones with clotted cream. The jam goes well too adding a bit of sweetness. The scones were wonderful, moist enough to make it delicious and easy to eat.
The desserts include a chocolate slic, mini fruit pavlova and orange polenta cake. My favourite was the pavlova, sweet, light and airy, it was delicious. The other two were pretty forgettable.
We had a very relaxing meal size snack under the warm sun with a great view of the bridge. Perfect.
