Nelson: I think this is one of the best Thai restaurants on the west side of Toronto. The value was really good in addition to the good food. Judging from the amount of takeout business they have I'd say other people in the neighbourhood agree.
I went with the Mango Chicken ($13.95) with slices of fresh mango lightly stir fried with chicken, bell peppers, onions and garnished with thin slices of carrots. I really liked how the mango was ripe and therefore lent the right amount of sweetness to the dish which balances perfectly with the spicy sauce. Sweet and spicy, two defining flavours of Thai cuisine.
|Kitty had Street Style Pad Thai ($11.95) with the traditional Pad Thai made with fresh lime juice, eggs, tofu, bean sprouts, tamarind and a sprinkle of peanuts. This one is with beef and it came with a lot of beef.I love how this dish is not at all ketchupy.|
My mom went with the Phat Phed Talay with tiger prawns, scallops and squid sauteed with carrots, bell peppers, green beans, onions, bamboo shoots and fresh basil ($14.95). This one was quite spicy, but in a good way. My only complaint with this dish is that there are only 2 prawns and 2 scallops. Otherwise, the flavour is definitely there.
From my memory, it seems they have raised prices since I've been there and the value doesn't seem to be as good. The food is still great though!
