Mei Nung Beef Noodle House
dre @ First Markham Place: I've been searching for a Taiwanese beef noodle shop in the GTA for a very very long time. My godmother, who is Taiwanese, told me about her favourite place here at First Markham Place a couple months ago, but I've never had the opportunity to go until recently for lunch. It is too far to trek all the kids there, and we are hardly ever in Markham.
My mom got the beef brisket and tendon in a soup base. It was extremely huge! I tried a scoop of the broth and it was pretty good.
I remembered in Vancouver, I had liked the lo mein version better, so I had that. I really enjoyed the texture of the noodles. I would say that's my favourite part!
My dad had a Ja Jiang noodle bowl. I didn't try any.
We also got a plate of lettuce with soy sauce, but that hardly got touched because our noodle bowls were so large. I was so stuffed!
Too bad this place is so far. I want to take Mike here one day. Does anyone know any Taiwanese beef noodle places on the west end?
