Brampton's 3rd Annual Wingfest
dre @ Chinguacousy Park: Brampton has a Wingfest every year, well, at least for the past 3 years. I've never been to any before, but this time, we decided to check it out. We got there at the baby-friendly hour of 5pm, when it just opened. There were not a lot of people yet, which was fine with us. There were a couple of booths opened and we tried to Pepsi taste challenge. I haven't seen a Pepsi taste challenge booth since high school!
There were 3 wing vendors: Oscar's Roadhouse, Turtle Jacks, and Spot 1 Grill. The only place I've been to is Turtle Jacks. I've seen the Oscar Roadhouse restaurant on Queen Street, and I've heard of Spot 1 Grill, but never seen the location before. We decided to try Oscars.
Now, for its 3rd annual wingfest, I thought the set up was disappointing. First, the wings were all from the same chicken provider, which was fine. The problem was that the wings were cold. Oscars simply took the pre-deep fried wings, mixed it in sauce and served it to us. Second, the prices were ridiculous. It was something like $12 for a pound and $22 for 2 pounds. For cold wings, this was very disappointing. At least they were somewhat large, so we didn't feel completely ripped off.
The highlight was the Beaver's Tail truck and that sort of satisfied our meal.
