dre in Chicago: We went to this Italian restaurant that my uncle's coworker had recommended. It was in the middle of nowhere, so I'm assuming that they get a lot of business from word of mouth.
We started with some bread and each meal came with a soup or salad. I got a boring house salad, and Mike got a Pasta Fagioli soup (beans, proscuitto, and pasta).
I got a chicken and portobello pasta dish. The portion was very generous. Actually, all the dishes had really big portions (we are in the States!). I didn't enjoy the dish that much though, because the sauce was way too salty. I think I finished 4 glasses of water and didn't have to go to the washroom.
My aunt got the risotto special. I tried a small bite, and I have to say it was the best dish out of all.
Doug got the Pasta di Casa which was rigatoni baked with sausage, mozzarella, and hard boiled eggs. It was very cheesy.
Mike got a Veal Marsala. His dish was pretty tasty. I don't think I've ever had a bad Marsala dish.
For dessert, we shared a tiramisu slice.
All in all, not bad, but I wouldn't particularly crave this place when I come back to Chicago.
