Hi Shanghai

Restaurant: Hi_Shanghai Toronto

dre @ Kennedy & Steeles: We went to this restaurant that is located in the Splendid China mall. I've never been to this mall, but I remember when it was built, it was supposed to be a competitor for Pacific Mall. It looked really dead inside to me.

I ate with my cousins, and we decided to order ourselves instead of what the parents' table was ordering. We got all my favourites:

Steamed pork dumplings. Actually, these are not my favourite because they are so bad for you, but how can you come to a Shanghai restaurant and not get them?

Oily onion pancakes. These were good. We got another order of these afterwards when we were still hungry.

Baby bok choy. Felt like we should have some veggies in our diet.

Green beans with minced pork. These veggies are probably anything but healthy!

Pot Stickers. I'm not sure why these pork dumplings are called pot stickers. Is it the way it's made? I forgot to take a picture of the whole dish, so I only got the last two. I was a big noob eating these as I took a bite and the juice squirted all out everywhere but in my mouth.

Rice noodles with pork. This dish was really small. Actually the size of all the dishes were very small.

Shanghai noodles. Very very oily dish.

Dan dan noodles. These were disappointingly not spicy.

Spicy beef noodle soup. This noodle dish was also not spicy.

Conclusion, this place is not bad, so I wouldn't complain about coming back. However, everything was extremely oily and really small. Not my first, second, or third choice, nor would I suggest coming here by choice.
