Driving Far For Cambodian and Thai Food

Restaurant: Khmer_Thai Toronto

dre @ St. Clair & Dufferin: Someone had told me to check this place out, so when I looked it up to see where it was, it was definitely not somewhere I'd go very often... or even at all. So, on the way home from downtown, we took this route just to drop by this restaurant for dinner.

The restaurant is a hole in the wall mom and pop kind of shop. You would definitely miss it or just walk by if no one told you about it. I'm amazed at how people find these places. Don't estimate the power of the internet and word of mouth!

We got some spring rolls to start, and I conclude that Thai spring rolls are my favourite type over Chinese and Vietnamese. They are so heavy and full of meat and noodles!

We got the Pad Thai Sai Khai. It had Pad Thai noodles, but the sauce wasn't as sweet as regular Pad Thai. It was more oyster sauce-like and saltier.

The second dish we got was the Golden Chicken, which was recommended by the same person who recommended the restaurant. It was very delicious! It was a spicy curry with chicken. I would definitely get this dish again!

I also liked that the prices were not that expensive and you didn't have to order separate bowls of rice for these dishes! If it was closer or in a more convenient location, I would come more often, but definitely if I was in the area again, I would eat here!
