Nelson: I've always been curious as to how Indian desserts taste. There are so many and so many different types I see in the display, but I know very little about them. I received these as gifts for attending Reety's baby shower. The circular ones are dough based with the ones on top having some other ingredients, I think vegetables. I don't even recall what the ones in the middle were like. Someone educate me!

  • the bottom ones are made from milk curds - fried then soaked in simple syrup. The white ones again are made of milk & milk curds. The top ones, I am not clear from the picture as to what it is but is likely flour-based. Also, India is very large and different areas have different dessert items. You will not see most available here in the west.
