Alice Fazooli's Again
Nelson @ Square One: Yes, I go here a lot, but in my defence I can walk here and it's better than my other choice, Jack Astor's.
I've mentioned it before, but I enjoy having the thin crust pizza and strangely enough I find that the vegetarian ones are often the best. This is the Funghi: Cremini, portobello, oyster, shiitake, fresh Niagara artisanal mozzarella, gorgonzola, pecorino, basil, chili oil. Great variety of mushrooms, I just wish there was a little more cheese. The basil was interesting to have on a pizza, but not sure I liked it that much. I don't think I got any chili oil unfortunately.
Kitty had the Rigatone Salsiccia: Ragu with Niagara Berkshire pork sausage, spinach, roasted cherry tomatoes. I remember this being really savoury and salty and tasting really good the next day too. I also remember the pool of oil it created the next day too. But I guess that's why it tastes so good...that and the fatty pork sausage acting as a ground pork! Way to put it to good use!
Andrea and Mike got the veal and meatball sandwich. I didn't try it myself, but they looked pretty good.
Chicken Marsala: Pan-seared chicken breast, marsala wine, mushrooms, cream, grana padano, linguine & seasonal vegetables. How does this compare with the Cheesecake factory one? I think the Cheesecake Factory one is slightly better, but this one is also good. I don't think I've ever had a bad chicken marsala before.
Italian Sausage: Hot Italian sausage, roasted fennel, thinly sliced red onions, soft gorgonzola, mozzarella, fontina, grana padano, fresh basil, tomato sauce. Once again another pizza with Basil, but the sausage was pretty strong tasting despite not having a lot. This one felt to me more like a normal pizza rather than a thin crusted one. But generally speaking, the pizzas from here are good.
