Formal Night #1

Restaurant: Holland_America

dre @ Zuiderdam: This was the first out of three formal nights.

Steamed Manila Clams in White Wine - I think I have a new appreciation for clams.

Chilled Lychees with Kiwi Wedges

French Onion Soup - Mike ordered 2 soups that night.

Dos Frijoles Soup - spicy, full bodied two-bean soup with a zesty twist of orange - Mike said it was not spicy at all!!

Caribbean Creamy Spiny Lobster Thermidor and Filet Mignon - This was delicious!! The filet mignon was sooo tender. I didn't know what a lobster thermidor was before ordering, and was pleasantly happy to see this creamy stuffed goodness. It was probably very high in fat and calories.

Pheasant Breast in Sage Walnut Sauce - I thought this would be more chicken-like, but it was a little bit tougher.

Truffled Mushroom Risotto - Mike ordered this as his only main dish and it was extra heavy.

Oven-Roasted Rack of Lamb - My mom ordered this and I tried a bite. It was very gamey.

Chocolate Soufflé - very dry and I had to order a dish of ice to mix it in, but the ice cream didn't help.

Pineapple crisp with Vanilla Ice Cream
