dre @ Zuiderdam: This dinner came after a day of relaxing on Holland America's private island called Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas. The menu was Caribbean themed, and offered some fried and spiced items. Although sometimes the menu said a dish was spicy, we never believed them because nothing was ever spicy.
Caribbean Fish Cake and Crispy Shrimp
Seared Ahi Tuna Carpaccio - I made Mike get it because I wanted to try it. It tasted like raw beef. Not too bad, but I don't think Mike was a fan.
Caribbean Pepper Pot Soup - beef broth with hearty root vegetables, dumplings, and chunks of beef
Great Sound Salad - Bibb lettuce with avocado, tomato, red beans, French green beans and garbanzo beans
Island Spiced Rack of Pork with mashed sweet potato and coleslaw
Caribbean Jerk Chicken Breast
Frozen Calypso Espresso Torte - mocha ice cream piled high atop a chocolate cookie crust, with a spiced caramel sauce
Watermelon Sorbet and a Rhubard Crisp with Cinnamon Ice Cream
Key Lime Pie - this was really good, and I'm glad I got to taste it even though I was already extremely full from the ice cream cake slice.
