Something Different at Swiss Chalet
dre @ Hwy 7 & Hwy 27: We haven't been to Swiss Chalet in a very long time, so one day we ventured to my favourite comfort restaurant for lunch. Both dishes that we ordered were not typical Swiss Chalet fare, and we thought we'd be a little adventurous.
I wasn't particularly hungry, so I got a salad. This is probably one of the very few times I order an entree salad. It was the Sweet Heat Salad - Fresh mixed lettuce, roasted red pepper strips, Mandarin orange slices, carrots, and sweet corn tossed in a Lime Kiwi Dressing. Topped with toasted sesame seeds and a sliced breast of our famous Rotisserie Chicken, glazed in Renee's Tangy Thai sauce. The salad tasted healthy and the chicken was generous, but $10 seemed a little steep for the salad.
Mike got the Southwest Rotisserie Chicken Sandwich - Our famous Rotisserie Chicken served hot with Southwest Mesquite sauce, Monterey Jack cheese and roasted red pepper folded in a Panini grilled flatbread. The sandwich was very cheesy and gooey, and not bad from the small bite I tried.
