Courtside at ACC

Restaurant: ACC Toronto

Nelson @ ACC: Mike managed to score some courtside seats (through Carol) and I was very honoured he picked me to go! My first time ever and it was such an awesome experience. We went super early and watched the players warm up. The Suns were in town, which meant I got to watch Steve Nash! In person, he is such a small guy - he doesn't seem like his listed height of 6 foot 3 and he is definitely a skinny guy. That makes it extra amazing what he can do on the court. We also saw Marcin Gortat warm up - that guy is a beast. He looks bigger in person than on TV. Mike got his Calderon jersey signed and I also wanted something signed, so I ran up to the store and bought a Steve Nash jersey on the spot, but by the time I came back he had already left the practice court.

We hadn't eaten because we were so early, and we didn't want to leave our courtside seats, so we had to order food from the waiters. We felt like ballers, so we ordered like ballers. We got the signature prime rib (slow roasted AAA Canadian Beef, hand carved on a bakery fresh onion bun, served with Old Dutch chips). It was quite good and had a bit of mustard spice to it which I liked. The chips were decent too. Because I had recently discovered how good chocolate covered popcorn is, I decided to order their M&M popcorn (fresh popcorn tossed with chopped M&M's & drizzled chocolate). Unfortunately it wasn't very good because the chocolate was not distributed well and there was no butter taste either. Oh well, the game itself was awesome to watch from our seats (we were two seats away from the Raptor bench) and it was an experience I'll always remember. It's also one of those bucket list items that I got to cross off.

Unfortunately as Steve was coming and leaving the court, he wasn't able to sign my newly bought jersey. That's ok, I don't blame him since there were so many people around at game time. What pissed me off was the fact that most people around us weren't even fans of the game. Anyway, thanks for picking me Mike and thanks Carol for letting him know about the tickets!
