The Rest of Lake Titicaca Food

dre in Peru: We stayed with a Peruvian family on Amantani Island in Lake Titicaca. It was a really awesome experience, though it was a little difficult communicating with them because they do not speak English and we do not speak Spanish. They have very limited electricity, with a couple of light bulbs in the main area of their house and one tap for running water that is near the kitchen. The toilet is a simple outhouse and after you finish your business, you pour a bucket of water into the toilet to "push" the contents down. Manual flushing.

Anyway, the cooked very simple meals for us, but at each meal there was always a soup - quinoa soup to be exact. The second dish had rice and eggs. We were vegetarian for those 2 days.
