Deep Dish Pizza #1
dre in Chicago: Upon arriving at our aunt and uncle's place, I bossily decided that deep dish pizza would be our welcoming dinner. I looked up where the closest Lou Malnati's (recommended by my god brother from the time I came here 2 years ago) and was happy to see that there was a location very close!
The 10 of us piled into 2 cars. They do not take reservations, so we waited for about 30-45 minutes before we got to a table. Since these pizzas take awhile to make, we pre-ordered while we waited for a table.
Nemo had a kid's penne.
We got 3 pizzas. The first one was called The "Malnati Chicago Classic" - Lou Malnati's is legendary for its pizza in the pan, and here, sausage is the specialty of the house. Made with Lou's exclusive blend of lean sausage, some extra cheese, and vine-ripened tomato sauce on our famous Buttercrust.™ It's authentic Chicago!
The second pizza is a half pepperoni / half sausage pizza. I think I got the chunky sausage side. Yum!
The "Lou" - A pizza so good we gave it his name! Fresh spinach, mushrooms and sliced tomatoes covered with a blend of mozzarella, romano and cheddar cheese.
I like the Buttercrust taste of the first one. It tasted unhealthily good. I also like the sausage, as they are big chunks. The veggie pizza was good too. I enjoyed this meal, but it wasn't as good as the first deep dish we had 2 years ago.
