Christmas Eve With My Family

Restaurant: none

dre: We spent Christmas Eve with my family at my aunt and uncle's house. As with every year, each family brings a dish. It's usually pretty predictable which family brings what dish.

My parents bring the turkey. Another aunt and uncle brought salmon.

I was having a hard time figuring out what to bring, and decided on Mexican style pulled pork. It ended up being a little bit dry, and not very spicy. Not one of my bests.

For some reason, I didn't take a picture of everything, because I remember my cousin making ratatouille, which actually went really well with my pulled pork. The host aunt and uncle, along with the Caesar salad shown, made some sort of Chinese dish as usual, but I don't have a picture of that either. My parents also made sticky rice, which is Mike's favourite, but I am also missing a picture of that. Maybe I drank too much that night and forgot haha

My other cousins made mac and cheese, and they also brought over some desserts. The fruit cheesecake - my favourite! The carrot cake, not so much.

My mom brought over some chocolate shot glasses, so we filled it up with ice wine, as I learned from my ice wine festival excursions. They were yummy shots!

  • Does your family think you are a big drinker? haha. Are the chocolate shot glasses expensive?

  • Yes, they enjoy making drinking comments every time we have a get together :P

My mom got the shot glasses from some German store in Kitchener, so I don't know how expensive they are.
