Breakfast in Meatpacking District
dre in NYC: Fresh off the overnight Greyhound Neon bus, we walked 30 blocks before we settled on this diner situated under the start of The High Line Park. We were hungry and tired and wanted to freshen up. We had huge backpacks with us which took up a lot of space, so we took up a large table.
The waitress was really friendly and chatted with us for a bit, finding out that we were from Toronto and basically in NYC to eat a lot. At the cafe, we ate the breakfast specials - I had scrambled eggs with potatoes and Mike had the ham option.
We forgot that ham in the States was really just cold cut meat. The food was okay and not spectacular, but the service was really good. I even forgot my booklet that I made for this trip full of food restaurants and when we came back to retrieve it, the waitress had left it with the owner and didn't throw it out :)
