Nelson: When you are in Taiwan, you see these green stands selling some sort of nut. They are selling something called a Betel Nut. Our tour guide told us to try one, so not knowing better we did. It was bitter and full of seeds. Turns out it is a stimulant (I think may be a drug) that many people chew on and you know they are chewing on it because they will have a distinctive red salavia in their mouths. I felt my face get hot and red, while my head hurt a little bit. It's like having a bit of a buzz. The nut grows on the palm trees, which are plentiful in Taiwan's south. Anyway, I wouldn't try it again.
