Patio Seating In Byward Market
dre in Ottawa: After an afternoon of hiking in Gatineau Park, Mike and I wanted to treat ourselves to a long, relaxing dinner. We walked through Byward Market looking at all the restaurants, and Mike suggested The Keg. However, I felt that we should try something that we can't get back in Toronto, so we walked around looking at menus. There were mostly 2 types of food that we could loiter at the restaurant for long, and it was bar and grill food or Italian. Seeing as we had some unhealthy bar and grill food the night before, I looked into the Italian places.
Obviously, in this touristy area, the restaurants aren't cheap, so I was hesitant to pick one. Mike, on the other hand, was checking out how comfortable the patio chairs were to aid his decision.
Finally, after walking around for about 20 minutes, we ended up eating at The Keg. Our reasoning was that we were guaranteed a great meal for a decent price and Mike saw how comfortable those chairs were. Since it was gorgeous outside, the line up for outside seating was longer than indoor, but we waited for another 30 minutes and finally, finally got a table.
The meal was delicious as we got our regular orders - a small size prime rib for me and a New York peppercorn for Mike. Twice baked potato is my new favourite potato. We nursed our meal and our Rickard's White pints for a good 3 hours there! :)
