Cupcakes in Beverly Hills
Restaurant: Los_Angeles Sprinkles
dre in Beverly Hills, CA: After an exhausting hour of window shopping on Rodeo Dr., we arrived at Sprinkles. I like how the cupcakes were arranged - very cute!
This place was really popular, because right after we ordered, we got seats (there's only 5 in the store) and the line up was going out the door.
I don't know what the big deal about cupcake shops are. At $3.25 a cupcake, I could probably bake and put frosting on a dozen of them myself (if I had baking skills) for $3.25. However, Dara was raving about them all week, and we were on vacation, and I'm never to say no to sweets, so I was all in for the experience!
In the end, after hemming and hawing for a while, Dara had Black and White (Belgian Dark Chocolate Cake with Creamy Vanilla Frosting) and Lemon (Fragrant Lemon Cake with Lemon-Vanilla Frosting flecked with Zest).
Mike chose Vanilla (Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Cake with Creamy Vanilla Frosting) and Cinnamon Sugar (Lightly Spiced Buttermilk Cake dusted with Cinnamon Sugar).
I decided on Banana (Fresh Banana Cake with Bittersweet Chocolate Frosting) and their signature flavour, Red Velvet (Southern Style Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting).
The cupcakes were quite moist and tasty, even after saving the second one for the next day. Maybe because cupcakes are cute little cakes and cuteness gets you everywhere, everyone loves cupcakes!
