Homemade Cookies For The Christmas Season

Restaurant: none

dre: I printed a couple recipes from the Toronto Star online to try out. I'm not usually a baker, because I'm not very good at following recipes. Mostly just bad at following precise measurements. Seeing as these recipes sounded delicious, I decided to give it a try.

The first 2 pictures show the Starlight Mint cookies. In each cookie is an After Eight chocolate. As the cookies were baking, the house smelled really minty and good. The cookies ended up really flat and smushed. Each cookie felt very oily and I didn't bake them too long, so the middles were soft. The chocolate gave it a bitter aftertaste.

The second batch of cookies each had a Caramilk chocolate in the middle. I also put in chocolate and peanut chips. The recipe for the dough was much better, and these cookies rose. The texture was very moist and delicious, especially with the caramel oozing out of each cookie.

The second recipe is definitely a keeper, and I've already baked 2 more batches!
