Brassaii Bistro Steak

Restaurant: Brassaii Toronto

Nelson @ Brassaii on King Street: For Di's Bachelorette we went to Brassaii for a set dinner.

We started with the Brassaii salad, mixed greens, pear, stilton, walnuts, honey lemon vinaigrette. Decently put together salad. The stilton cheese tasted like blue cheese and had a very sharp taste. It was also very salty, but it went well in the salad.

For the main, I had the Brassaii Bistro Steak (shallot jus, fries). They seemed to name items on their menu after the restaurant name. This was a decent dish, the steak was not the best, but still pretty good. The sauce was full bodied and salty. The fries were crisp and had a lot of salt on them. I liked it.

Dessert was Flourless Chocolate Torte with white chocolate creme anglaise and fresh mint. I didn't really taste the white chocolate and the mint was gone in one bite (it's on top). This was pretty rich, but I finished mine. I think Kitty had some trouble.

A good restaurant overall, but we paid a lot for this meal, so I don't know if it was worth the price. Good atmosphere and interior though.
