First Night on the Carnival Valor
Restaurant: Carnival_Valor
dre @ Carnival Valor: We were really excited for the first sit-down dinner that obviously we wanted to order everything!
For appetizers, we had Linguini with Italian Sausage, Bell Peppers and Mushrooms. I love pasta, so this dish as an appetizer was perfect. We also had a shrimp cocktail (nothing special) and tropical fruits. Pretty healthy.
The soups were a Gazpacho Andalouse (chilled tomato broth with diced plum tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and Mediterranean herbs) and the Beef and Barley Soup with Diced Root Vegetables.
The main dish I had were Pan Seared Fillet of Tilapia with Vishy Carrots, Romaine and Melon Salad Dressed with Salsa. The fish was pretty tasty, and this was the low-carb option on the menu.
Mike ate the Grilled Flat Iron Steak from American Choice Beef Accompanied by Three Peppercorn Sauce, Mac 'N Cheese and Vichy Carrots. The steak was too well done and not very great.
For dessert, Mike had the Vanilla Crème Brûlée - very tasty.
I had the Warm Chocolate Melting Cake - very heavy and I did not finish.
Also, a cappuccino to end the meal.

I like the way the fruit is arranged...is it suppose to be something?
Which Diced root vegetables is in the soup? They look like croutons...
What is the white container thing for the steak's mac & cheese? Look interesting...
Nice double ice cream on the creme brulee :)

All the "stuff" in the beef and barley soup were probably at the bottom.
And the white container is similar to a Chinese tea cup. Same thing as the white cup on my fish entrée.
