Nelson: My dad brought home a whole bunch of Taiwanese candy. For the most part, it is a lot less sweet than North American candy. There are also more types that are sandy or sticky. I suppose you have to grow up with it or get use to it over time. I understand why Chinese people think western desserts/candies are too sweet.
The second picture is of Taiwanese pineapple cake. People always bring this back, because Taiwan makes this really well. This brand had a cow on the cover of their "Nougat pineapple cake".
