Friday Formal Lunch
Restaurant: Royal_Caribbean
Nelson @ Freedom of the Seas: Just to mix it up a bit, I'm posting Friday's lunch. It always takes effort to make it formal lunch because it really breaks up the day into two halves, but we made it on one of the days.
We split this grilled chicken yakitori with japanese rice, teriyaki sauce and wakame salad. Wakame salad is seaweed salad, and Kitty is a big fan, but they only gave a single bite portion. No matter, this tastes delicious. It was the best order of the whole meal.
Kitty had the Beef Tostada salad, tomatoes, avocado, onion, lettuce and cheese served on a flour tortilla with ranch dressing. This looked impressive, but Kitty found the tortilla too oily. There were big chunks of avocado, which Kitty really enjoys. The beef was ok, but at least the presentation was interesting.
I had the grilled open steak sandwich on toasted garlic rye bread with freid eggs, crispy onion rings and tomato wedges. Disappointing as the steak wasn't high quality, but I should have known. It as tough to eat as the meat was...tough. I was looking forward to the onion rings, but they gave so few and instead it came with fries.
Traditional Greek Salad topped with marianted squid. This had a lot of squid which was nice.
For dessert we had strawberry Napoleon, which was very nice. The pastry was nice and flaky and the strawberry filling delightful. The Chocolate slice was almost as good as it was very rich and chocolatey. Good job on the lunch desserts.
PS Taking pictures with natural lighting is a nice change from the typical dimly lit restaurant :)
