Le Select Bistro

Restaurant: Le_Select_Bistro Toronto

dre @ Wellington and Spadina: We met with Mike's family friends at this French restaurant west of Spadina. Everyone started off with a piece of bread. Knowing that portions will probably be tiny, I ate the whole piece of bread. It wasn't dry, but it wasn't moist, just plain.

I had the Sandwich Au Poulet Basque - Chicken sandwich served on an almond bun with a Basque piperade, tomato and red onion. It also came with a salad. The piperade must have been the sauce in the sandwich. The sandwich was tasty and so was the salad, but it was just a little small.

Mike had the Pain Doré Aux Pommes - French toast stuffed with apples and cranberries served with Canadian maple syrup. The French toast was fluffy, and the one taste of the fruit I had was sour.

We tried our best to eat slowly so that we can digest slower and not feel too hungry afterwards. Nice atmostphere, but I don't think I will return. French food is not one of my favourites mostly because of its small portions and high price.

  • I usually eat a small breakfast, so I probably wouldn't mind, although I might mind the price.
